Today is J.R.R. Tolkein’s birthday! I met Jeff Hatfield, Greg Lawler & Devon Capshaw at Dargan’s to hang out and toast “The Professor” at 9pm like many other Tolkein nerds across the planet. Don’t hold it against Devon as he was there to hang with the fellas. I wouldn’t want to ruin his chances with the ladies by hanging with the likes of me.

Wish I could celebrate it with you CM, someday when I have lots of green paper I will take you to England, we will take a train either from Victoria Station or Paddington & head to Oxford, we will get off the train walk a mil or so to St. Giles Street turn left & head to The Bird & The Baby pub, you can get a coke, I’ll have cider and we can imagine we hear the resounding echoing voices of Tolkien, Lewis, Williams & friends. Perhaps it will start to rain and that will make our afternoon even better. We then shall order some Shepherds Pie and have great fun laughing and talking Hobbit stuff. Do please pray for me as I have applied to a Masters program at Oxford. I want to be the other Oxford prof you like! word…
