Mr. Skills Anderson
Oct 30th

Tonight, I got to go to an art show! My pal, Scott Anderson, is a terrific illustrator and some people noticed. Scott won The Arts Fund’s 2008 Individual Artist Award (IAA) in Print Design. What-What!! You read that right. He won in 2008. They had to age the cheese just right for the cracker spread out front. Worth it!
He put on a cool exhibit showcasing his work-flow, including an impressive video that loops on a Mac near the door. What else would it be looping on? A Dell? God forbid. If you’re in the Santa Barbara area (and why wouldn’t you be?), check out the show at The Arts Fund Gallery October 30th through December 4th, 2009. Gallery hours are 1:00-5:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday and by appointment. See, easy! You only have to use a vacation day and leave a voice mail and wait until a nice lady calls you back and then schedule a time to meet her and then check out the sweet show and then resent Scott (via email) for making you jump through all those hoops just to see his art which, you have to admit, was pretty neat, but you don’t want to let on that it was worth it because you are secretly planning on buying a piece and you want to guilt him into dropping the price so you can show off in front of your so called friends who only really like you because you always buy drinks. You have shallow, alcoholic friends.
Happy Costume Day!

Everybody have a fun & safe weekend! Remember that if you do not you will surely feel the cold, precise blade of the Boy-Assassin, trained in the killing arts of Ninjitsu: William – Age 8.
U2 @ Rose Bowl
Oct 26th
After much waiting and semi-riotous crowd behavior, I ended up in a pretty great spot for the U2 show at the Rose Bowl. Great show! The band was on their game and the stage setup was incredible. There were a pair of rotating bridges from the stage to the outer ring. One passed over us a bunch of times. Here’s a shot I go with my iPhone as Bono passed overhead. You can see Adam in the back. It was more 3D than U23D!
Soccer Star!
Oct 24th
You might remember my nephew, Jacob, from his hit song Taco Bells and Soda. He was two then. He is now 10 and his soccer team just totally beat the other undefeated team. Soccer Star!

Dedication
Oct 23rd
My favorite 2nd grader just won an award for his dedication at school!
When I was in 2nd grade I dropped out of the Christmas play because I
didn’t realize that my playing a toy soldier boy required wearing
makeup.
